• Welcome!

The purpose of this site is to aquaint you with our imprint and to tell you about the books we sell. In an excess of reticence, perhaps, we keep the commercial pitch behind the green tabs above. Using them you can learn about us, our products, and other matters.

What you see in front of you is our blog—a free-wheeling discussion about books, reading, literature, language, and much else likely to interest our customers—people who read books. Please comment and participate.

And we'd really love it if you would buy our books.

Addendum on Urania

Paul Rodriguez, who has a difficult-to-plumb depth of knowledge about science fiction, sent us a link that shows around 1,560 science fiction covers produced by the Italian publisher Urania. A link to these covers is here. Arsen Darnay’s Karma novel, there entitled La Fisica del Karma, is shown in the 841-860 block of that listing toward the left and bottom. Urania published rather slender novels, and Karma was too thick, hence it was issued in two volumes. We reproduce both covers here side by side. The second cover actually depicts a Rabbit Woman, believe it or not—which somewhat links us to the sub-theme introduced yesterday. Here we would note that such a rabbit actually does appear in the novel, but you’d have to read it to get the real context. Covers suggests, contents enlighten.
